Saturn store input

Postby flyboy » Thu Apr 09, 2009 5:00 pm

Been asked to look into a few things at our sister Saturn store.

The first thing that pops out is that the Warr parts are just a touch over DOUBLE warr labor sales! In GM world that would usually be a huge red flag.

Is this typical for Saturn?

Any input would be appreciated.

When's the last time the Saturn store submitted for a labor rate increase?

Is your parts department getting retail rate for their warranty parts?

How many VTI transmissions are you doing?
These transmissions are clunkers past 70k miles and we are doing around 4-5 a month lately.

Through this year, looks like last year is just a touch higher.

Labor rate increase is not going to make a dent in this, there simply is not enough hours sold monthly to have a major effect. However, to answer your question, Jan 08, matched the CPI increase.

As to parts pricing, I am not certain how that could happen, the pricing is dictated by GM I believe.

VTI tranmissions... hmm, I am TOLD, not able to pull any records just yet myself, that they do quite a few. What that means I am not certain yet. But does that have that big a factor? Newbie, when you mentioned 70K, are these warrantied that far out? If not, it would have 0 effect on this.

Thanks for giving this some thought guys, appreciate the input.

Depending on which state you are in, you can get retail rate for your warranty parts. I have a 73% markup on my warranty parts apposed the normal 40ish% you would from the factory.

VTI transmissions are warrantied that far out.

YTD I'm around a little over doubel warranty sales as is the other two Saturn stores in my group. Nothing to really worry about unless you guys aren't ontop of the Global Warranty (returns to WPC and claim payments in general).
