Is anyone running a Large Quick Service Group? Something like 40% of your shop total?
How does it operate?
Profitable?
Pay-Plans? Flat Rate or Clock Hours?
Set-Up?
Who leads the TEAM or Group?
Comebacks?
Dispatching?
Inspections in Team?

Trying to set one up my customer demands are growing towards Quick Service in and out in 1-3 hours or less..

Quick Lube-Express Lube or Quick Service Complete

I have a stand alone Quick Service Express for our GM lines. I have an Advisor paid on salary + comm. The techs are on a salary + flat rate bonus tiered to entice them to sell and do more. We have one tech that fills in and trains with the advisor, helps the techs and performs QC.
This facility is there for only "maintenance" needs. We will perform Warranty batteries, bulbs, tires..light non technical work, but mostly maintenance.
Because it is a low gross facility, we have to generate a lot of up-sales to keep it form going in the hole. We hav an overall gross of 49.5% this year..parts & labor. we have a gross net of $62000.00.
We still have some trouble with the advisor with the upgraded menu's (maint I & II) understanding that people do not have to go by miles or time for their lof's, but he is coming along. All work is controlled by the advisor. 98% is "waiter" work. We have 3 techs doing these services. They upsale TBI services, Injector flushes, trans & coolant, steering & brake flushes, tires, belts, hoses...just what we want them to do. They also look for oil leaks, pull codes, and when they find something, we get the customer to come to the main shop for a skilled tech to work on the vehicle. Seems to be working pretty good. Business is flooded one day, trickles the next some weeks. I created a seperate set of labor ops for QS so it is easier to track the work. I also track by the advisor # for the overall progress of the QS facility. Most months we have a net of $7-8k before the rent and utilities. Owner is satisfied that it is not losing money, makes some most months. 1st month was the most costly..opening expenses. We constantly advertise on bill boards, internet, coupons, and with GM.
