Good Morning Everybody;
Re: Express Lube and/or Quick Service Team Pay-Plans
With all of the push my the Manufactures to have a Quick Service Team of Techs with a Express Lube how do we pay and how do we head count that Express Lube Tech. Questions as listed below:
1: Pay Plans?
A: Time Clock times a Rate @Clock Hr
B: Flat Rate with no guarantee
C: Flat Rate with a Guarantee
D: Time Clock with Overtime
Here is how I pay: I guarantee the Lube Tech or Q/S Tech minimun wage $7.05 per hour plus .50$ which equals $7.55 per clock hour with no overtime. I set there cost up $20.00 per flat rate hour. I pay them whatever is higher. I very seldom have to pay a guarantee. My cost stays stable and I have a variable pay rate in my store. My average GP on Customer paid labor is running at 79.1% Gross Profit becuase of the variable pay rate. I also have my Quick Service Team do all of the Q99P Inspections with a complete tire rotation as part of our service.
2: Head Count: In the case of the Express Lube Techs that are touching a lot of vehicle but only doing oil changes, tire rotations and Q99P inspections do you count them as a full technician or a half?
Any and all feed back would br greatly appreciated. Just trying to tweek to get that last bit of Gross Profit.
