GM labor Ops

GM labor Ops

I would like to open a discussion about labor ops that are hard to find or are in combination with others. I.e. if you need to reflash the computer for a shift problem do you use j6355-reprogram prom or a transmission operation. On medium duty trucks try to find the vehicle speed sensor reluctor or that on some bulletins it pays less than the lbr op in the system even though it took longer to diagnose

GM labor Ops

I think the days of the factory (not just GM) doing a complete and accurate time study to arrive at labor operations (both time and inclusions) are long over. With medium duty it is even worse.

Even GM now has gone to a ST situation with time studying new model labor operations (for example the CTS, Vibe, SSR, etc.)

Apparently, the factory is unwilling to make sure that labor times exist and are correct. They must be saving tens of thousands on engineering services.
