I know there is an Arkona forum but it doesnt look like anyone looks at it much,im wondering if any Toyota dealers are using it ?? and what sorts of issues are there ?? does it interface etc....my dealer is looking at switching from ADP,im pretty open minded but it looks like you save monies because you lose alot of functions and becomes more manual inputs of info.

BE VERY CAREFUL! Yes I shouted that I was on R & R for 18 years the dealer that bought us had already purchased a wizbang super duper windows based system. Half the stuff did not work with GM everything was totally different and you could not hire people that already knew the system. Last I knew they still could not do rim in parts, some warranty had to be submitted manually thru dealerworld. When you did not and inputed the credit it charged the same amount also to shop policy. long of the short story 3 years later he had spent 300,000 on the cheap system and still did not have all seven stores up and running on it. Like I said be VERY CAREFUL and don't listen to everything the salesman says. I could repeat that 3 times. best thing get some prices comparable to what you already have and discuss them with your current dms even if they are more the lack of having to relearn and train for the new system may make it your best bargin. By the way I don't work for that dealer and now I'm back on R & R

Some dealers will change DMS based on price alone. The DP does not have to use the system, I have seen computer terminals silling on a GM's desk that were not even plugged in to 110 volts. To go from ADP to Arkona would be a very long step backwards.

Like everything else, you get what you pay for. Some functions on Arkona are very much like an old EDS system.
