ESI thru the internet (GM)

Its nice to read so many "positive" comments about GM Access and GM STG and GM TIS2000.
The biggest problem is they haven't figured out that the GM in all three (also GM VOMS and GM Buypower) is one and the same. Each segment is being run by someone that couldn't hack it in the automotive end and is counting the days to retirement. They dumped junk COMPAQ servers in the dealerships (what is the name of that company they have an aliance with, Sun Microsystems, and who is one of the largest makers of servers,) hired know nothing front line people to provide service and drive dealers nuts, and have no idea where to go next. They refuse to have an information summit with GM people, EDS people, interested dealer personnel, and some outside people like Microsoft, SUN, CISCO, ETC. because they might find out they are heading in the wrong direction.
There is one thing dealers can do to help speed up their servers, bitch about speed, everyday. E-Mail Stan Politowitz, GM Access head, (SPelling?) and demand a memory upgrade. They upgraded me to 192 MB Ram and I now have 12 PC clients hooked up. It still does goofy things from time to time but I no longer bother calling the help desk.
