The new VISS is wrong!!!

I learned today the the service contract area of the new viss is wrong where it says "deductable ammount". I had several that said zero deduct when if fact the customer had a $100.00 deduct. Be aware. It would be easy to get stung by this one. Verify with CARES.

Somewhere I think it was in a DCS Message that the GM ACCESS admistrator can issue ID's & Passwords for accessing? Is this true? I ask because at this time our service manager is the only one who has access and it's not always possible to use is PC or him to access.. I know our Warranty administrator would love to have this tool but not if she has to ask the service mgr every time she wants to do additional research on a claim or vehicle. We do have other PC's with Internet access but can't access at this time..

Yes that is true. The system administrator is the only one that can issue not only passwords but user names. Our dealership is allowed only three users at this time so that does limit the access. I think in time it will have to open up. I am lucky to be one with a user name and password which I have on my home PC as well. What a great tool....

You may want to review that three users thing, I am security manager for ours and I already have 17 users on it, each with their own name and password. I myself have not seen anything about a limit.

ps... We access it thru our ISP and not gmaccess.

You called it Gerry... If you use your own ISP then the sky is the limit. GM access does limit the number of user's which is what we are on...

Back to the original question...when using gmvis I always print the summary page and attatch it to the RO. And always call and confirm any warranty claims through GMPP. It only takes 1 rejected claim of $100 (or any amount for that matter) for "labor op not covered" to make the 5 minutes or less it takes to gmvis and call for pre authoriztion time well spent. Don't learn the hard way.
