I get hammered all the time b/c we are not 100% in training, b/c we do not have all our ASE training. ASE is NOT specific just to just GM, but as we all know ASE covers cars/trucks of all makes & models, & you only get 2 shots a year to pass the ASE training.
My guys have passed everything that GM offers, including hands-on training, but the ASE pulls my training % down.
Now dont get me wrong, I think ASE training is great, but I dont think it should be mandatory by GM when it is not GM specific. What does the front suspension of a Volvo have to do with us submitting a claim type B or getting some OLH??
Plus I am sure most of you will pay for the ASE classes for your Techs, which is fine & dandy until Tech A decides to go another dealership or firestone, or independent with all his ASE badges that you paid for.
