Free lifetime state inspections

Free lifetime state inspections

Postby Fixedopsmgr » Thu Jan 18, 2001 9:04 am

We are considering free lifetime inspections for anyone who buys a car. Looking for feedback concerning the way they are billed. Does the new or used car departments help in the cost or should service eat the whole thing? Naturally in the long run it will pay for itself in service, but for the first few years while the vehicle is still under factory warranty I don't expect to break even.

Thanks

Free lifetime state inspections

We did lifetime inspections in 1995-1996 we set it up so the service department pays for the reinspection each year and yes the service department benifits from the return and I look at it as cheap advertising. We have found by now that alot of them dont do any service at all and alot of the vehicles are traded or sold. Of course youl also end up with the ones who only come in for the free inspection and will not buy any other services and will be back the next year for the same free inspection. I should also add that the New vehicle department pays for the free lof that is given with the purchase of a new vehicle.
