Recon Pay Plans

Postby NOBLT921 » Wed Mar 05, 2008 2:13 pm

I am soon taking over the recon department, and I was wondering how everyone else pays thier recon people- flat rate vs. hourly, etc., I am at a Toyota store, if that matters.
Thanks

We pay flat rate. $15.00 per hour lead man and $12.00 per hour for 2nd guy. Have tried paying hourly in the past but didn't work as well.

We pay an hourly rate right now, but are having major production issues.

Lack of production was the exact reason we went to a flat rate pay plan. Every position I have I try to tie some kind of production measurement to the pay plan.

I pay on flat rate for set recons. We do not have any on the hour. All commission just like line techs. I use a "menu" for reconditions. Have A-D with new & used.

Toyota store. Our used car techs are also on flat rate to keep up production. We have used car detailers on service payroll that also get paid on flat rate hour. Keeps all the money in house.Working great!

I pay 0.5 for a simple wash & vac - menu D
1.5 for a more detailed wash & vac, wipe off seats, clean dash & apply dressing, tire shine.
3.0 for wash-wax-vac-shampoo carpets, clean seats-leather, trunk, door jams/facings, clean under fenders, tire shine.
4.0 hrs for a front line ready full bumper to bumper detail. nothing left out.
I have menus for NC, UCD & Retail on these services.
We sell a lot of retail services off these menus. UCD/NC is our best customers. Set the ops up in the system, works great.
