LOF's and hours per RO calculations

OK guys. Quick survey. When calculating your hours-per-RO averages how many of you EXCLUDE straight "LOF's" ????? Be honest, now. <grin>

For the record, I DO include them.

We include LOF's to get more acuracy. We have a tracking system which let us know how many over any given time. The system will track any task you would like to set up, this makes it very convinient to track specials as well as common tasks.

Most clients I have worked with do not include pure LOFs in their hours per RO figures. They feel it distorts the numbers and may lead service advisors to make up the difference by gouging other customers

WE INCLUDE EVERYTHING LESS DETAILING. WE HAVE PONTIAC, BUICK, GMC AND OUR HOURS PER RO ARE IN THE 2.2-2.3 RANGE. WHAT'S EVERYONE ELSES

You must include LOF in the calculation. The opportunities missed on LOF are huge so you must see the net effect of LOF HR's/RO. The follow up to low Hr's/RO would be a review of one line repair orders. A low mileage LOF is what it is, but a high mileage LOF only repair order could be a sign of low effort on the tech and/or advisor to properly survey the car or lack of a menu presentation.

We include LOF's in Hours/RO. I think it gives everyone a little extra incentive to minimize 1 line RO's. Otherwise, the advisors have to look at my scowl each month when I go over the #'s. Besides, LOF's are written on repair orders and they are a part of the service department.
