Universal Tire Pressure Monitor Tool ?

Anyone have any luck converting the GM TPM J tool over to a universal tool?

The GM TPM tool, J-46079, is a "universal" tool by name, but according to SPX, it is only for GM.

OTC has a 3833 tool which looks identical, but OTC says it is a different manufacturer.

The OTC software should load on the the J tool, and I should be good to go.....right???

have you tried the tpm tool on other makes, it does work on some. it will work on nissan and some other imports. my used car tech has just started to try it on some non-gm vehicles. i will let you know what we come up with.
