Who are you competing with? Other dealers like yourself, independents, or both.
I think most customers know there going to pay a little more when they come to the dealer. Over the past few years our industry has tried to sell price and not what we really have to offer. (specialized tools, factory trained techs, loaner cars...ect)
If you go above and beyond what the customer expects price is rarely and issue! I agree you should be competive, but you dont have to be the cheapest around. Alot of the independents in our area charge a lesser labor rate, but charge more labor hours for the repair! We price shop all the time and actually find them to be higher in a lot of instances!
