Diag labor time

Diag labor time

Currently we are fighting an issue in which we have a guy in the shop that labor ops for techs when they complete an RO, however whenever the techs ask for specific diag time on warranty jobs, the guy labor op'ing the RO usually laughs because in his mind, he knows that Stellantis will not pay what the tech is asking for. Obviously, we are peeling the onion so to speak...These techs need a guy that is on their side and willing to fight for what they feel like they are owed. As well, the guy labor op'ing the RO knows what he believes Stellantis will and will not pay. I suppose, this same situation applies to any manufacturer. I believe there is gray are between what both of these parties perceive as black and white. I want to make sure we are getting all warranty diag time we are owed. The shop RO handler also tells the techs that they must write everything on the back of the hard copy AS WELL AS type all of those sames things into the DMS(Reynolds). Is there any reason they should have to double that work? Can you guys share some ideas as to how you get the most diag time from the manufacturer? Also, who do you have doing, and how do you go about labor op'ing RO's in your stores?
