"In our area business is not what it used to be.
Our lube rack guy quit last week. In order to keep the line techs busy the service manager has decided not to replace the lube rack guy. Line techs will do the LOF work from now on.
If you have a "regular" tech doing this type of work what do you pay him / her?"
Smart service manager...that is how it should be done.
Our techs get .3 for our basic oil change, .5 for our standard, and .7 for our premium.
Plus they get an additional .3 to perform a thorough no wrench inspection on each oil change. You can't sell work if you don't find it the first place.
