Maybe this why they are closed!.....years ago it used to be, come in for a 30k service ....and get LOF, plugs, points, condensor, air filter, fuel filter, timing adjustment, valve adjustment, belts tensioned, plug wires,pcv valve, tire psi adjusted and when the customer got in the car and hit the key, WOW, it started on first hit, idled smoother, had better acceleration and mpg. NOW!!! they come in, we charge twice to three times as much ( I know it's 25 years later) but, we do half as much and the customer feels, hears, and gets none or small improvements on start, idle, accel, or mpg on todays current vehicles....so, We the dealer have to give them something they feel good about, so we wash the car, shake the mats, clean the windows and shine the tires.....You know the customer appreciates that more than the tires being inflated to the correct psi or the service ........why?......they can see and feel the cleaning we did, the 30k service made no diff to them other than time out of their day and a small peace of mind. Yes it is a hassle to wash and clean, but this day and age, if we don't take care of the customer better than they expect, there is always another repair shop close enough by them they might try them for their next problem or maintenance.

I was more getting at the loaners car for LOF's as that is pricey. We do an exterior wash too.
