$49.99-$59 oil changes-coming up with a plan

I was curious how your dealership is coming up with a plan for the new nrp plan or how you currently get to the $49.99 between parts and service. It seems here we lose money on the service side. Is that the normal? Or do you pay your techs less money on them? any feed back is appreciated. Thanks
