A Parts Guy with a GM Training Question...

Postby partsman103 » Mon Nov 13, 2017 11:22 pm

Does anyone here work at a dealership that does not have a body shop? I am curious as to how you handle the training side of things with GM in that area. Apparently the lack of a body shop and the training in that area is affecting our standing with GM on our overall training percentages.....which in turn is bringing our numbers down.

I'm looking for answers to get around this and hopefully someone here has the answer!

Our Service Manager has asked our ASM but cannot get a straight answer.

TIA.

We do not have a bodyshop here. We sublet all of body repair work to our local bodyshop. We have contracted our work to them and they agreed to have one of their technicians take all of the GM training body courses. That technician is also i-car and ase certified so he is fully trained on the GM bodyshop profile. We actually have his
name in our training database as an employee of our dealership.
