How to get customers to come back for warranty parts?

We have a lot of warranty special ordered parts and the customers take too long or never come back to have them installed. How do I prevent this? Ideas??

Stop ordering parts for customers that won't commit to a return appointment.

That's good once we know they are, but for everyone else is where the problem is. Maybe hold a credit card on file and if they don't show up for their appointment in the time frame stated, we charge them for the parts. Just saying...

The vehicle is in your shop, diagnosed by a qualified Technician, the customer authorizes repairs, you set an appointment, you order the part.....Simple. The only effort on your part is if the customer no-shows which requires a call.

I have a 93% SOR install rate and average ninety-six non-internal repair orders per day.

body shops don't want to take time and look at car. order twice what them need and return it over half of it to parts dept . need to stop it!! get off you chair and go outside and look at car and make list!

zep33 We are talking about returns that service and body shop dump on parts dept. because the can not do they gob right

This is why customer don't come back.
Body shop and service order parts that are Not needed!!!
Customer come in has check engine light. They hook up scanner .Hey need vent valve and canster order that.Clear light never come back on.
Parts suck with parts.
Body shop .customer come in headlamp is fog up. order lamp. Clears up in day we are stuck with lamp again
