P & P Changes

Everyone check out the P&P changes to Article 1.7 page 2; it states: "The scrapping copy of the repair order and the claim memo must be attached to the part being scrapped."
Now if you are a small store this may not be a big deal for you but for a larger store such as myself I'll have to hire someone JUST to make copies of all the RO's and claim memo's and then track down all the parts to attach them to.
This change is ridiculous and needs to be rescinded immediately!
All Dealers need to call their Fixed Op's Representative or e-mail them to get this changed!!

we're talking GM ...

and I thought the same thing. As I was writing the newsletter I figured this has to be a mistake because in most cases I am lucky if I see the RO number written on the side of the part box. If it wasn't written in error, the leave it to GM to ask for a pound of flesh out the dealer to save them an ounce of effort during a parts scrap.

I think the change will make it so an auditor can walk into the scrap room and have everything at his fingertips. No need to pull R.O.'s and scrapping copies then go look at the parts. It would be a convenience for G.M. and an added burden for the dealer.

I think a great argument against this policy is that it is environmentally irresponsible to produce and waste this much paper.
