uniform expense

Postby RAM » Mon Jul 07, 2008 2:22 pm

We have been asked to review our uniform
contract and work on other options.

Has anybody look into buying uniforms and having a local cleaning company do the cleaning ? If so, was it cost effective ? Just looking for some thoughts before getting involved.

Thanks
RAM

Just get ahold of your uniform company and tell them that you may need to make a change. You'll be suprised what a deal they come up with.

Absolutely too many variables when you try to buy your own uniforms. The likes and dislikes, types, who can wear what, when, why, and where, cleaning, replacement, logos, and most of all who wants all the issues?
I agree, cut the best deal you can with a local vendor.

The new trend is to handle this 100% in house. Do the math on what the 5 year cost is for uniforms. Many shops have decided to purchase uniforms, cleaning equipment and supplies and then assign the task to someone on staff. The savings for most shops are staggering and add a lot to the bottome line.
