PARTS SPLIT

After many years with GM i still dont understand why according to GMs financial statements customer pay parts is a 50/50 split with parts and service. The end result is never that way. On our statement more the 50% of the sales go to the service department and more than 50% of the gross profit goes to the parts department. We know the bottom line results are what we want and look at,but does anyone have an idea about this glitch?

We posted a reply on the parts managers forum about a month ago regarding the transfer. According to my CFO, GM has already sent a copy of the 2002 financial statement showing that the transfer will "go away", and the parts dept will receive the full gross profit.
