PARTS SPLIT

After many years with GM i still dont understand why according to GMs financial statements customer pay parts is a 50/50 split with parts and service. The end result is never that way. On our statement more the 50% of the sales go to the service department and more than 50% of the gross profit goes to the parts department. We know the bottom line results are what we want and look at,but does anyone have an idea about this glitch?
