Judging from your post (and profile), one might assume you somehow have connections to TAC and the TSB process.
Can you offer insight into why "fixes" might go unpublished for such long periods of time? The legal aspect aside, it would seem that "nipping something in the bud" would save GM, as well as any other manufacturer, a bundle if dealers were notified of repair procedures as they're identified.
Vibration fixes on on the new trucks, for example, were initially released only on a "need to know basis." In the meantime, dealers spent countless hours (of straight time no doubt) swapping tires, running tests, etc. to isolate a problem with a known fix.
Please accept that I am not attacking you or GM, but would appreciate some insight into the logic.
