HELLO!....NEW GUY ON THE LOOSE! I THINK ITS GREAT COMFORT TO LEARN THAT THERE IS A FORUM WHERE EXPERIANCE'S ARE SHARED. WE ALL KNOW THAT IN THIS INDUSTRY,EVERYDAY IS A NEW ADVENTURE.
ONE OF THE ISSUES I HAVE BEEN BATTLING IS THE TRACKING OF "RETURN VISITS". PERHAPS BETTER KNOWN AS "COMEBACKS". WE ARE CURRENTLY OPERTATING ON REYNOLDS AND REYNOLDS WHICH IS LIMITED WHEN IT COMES TO TRACKING USEFUL DATA. (so I am told) WE ARE CURRENTLY TRACKING ANY VEHICLE THAT RETURNS TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR WHATEVER REASON WITHIN 90 DAYS OF ORIGINAL REPAIR/SERVICE. TRACKING THIS MANUALLY AND COUNTING ON ADVISORS TO SUPPLY THE INFO, ONCE THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED, HAS BEEN A MAJOR CHALLANGE FOR US. I AM LOOKING TO STREAMLINE THE PROCESS AND SAVE MYSELF SOME PRECIOUS MINUTES IN THE BATTLE OF REPORT GENERATING. WHICH, BY THE WAY,WE ARE DOING MANUALLY. WHATS WORKIN' FOR YOU? ANY INPUT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

What are the fields you want to see on the report?

The canned tech comeback report (3616) is usually an OK starting point for us. Depending on when your system was installed you may not see it on your menus by default, it may have to be granted in 6210.
Good Luck.

If you are on Reynolds ERA, I can help you build a script that will automatically generate the info you need in an excel format.

In the interest of the philosophy "feed a man a fish feed him for a day, teach a man to fish feed him for a lifetime" you may be happier using ERAlink Query Builder (same actitvity as Report Generator but in a Windows point and click and can download to a spreadsheet, print or view on screen) ERAlink remote training (ODTT)can be purchased very inexpensively and have you well on your way to happier and more flexible report capabilities. Contact you local R&R rep.

I am new to ADP. Does anyone have a good way to track "comebacks" using ADP?

For a new user to R+R be aware that ERALink comes in two parts. One, which is free, allows your PC to act as a greenscreen in order to work on R+R's system. The second, which is yours for a one-time fee from R+R, allows you to build reports to transer to excel and to create your own I Descriptors. If you research the ODTT option be sure you are getting an experienced trainer that has extensive experience on ERALink. Ask the person who calls you to sell you this service what their qualifications are on this topic. Most R+R trainers/installers have not been trained on this application.

In ADP, there is a report in the system for Labor Comeback. The RO must be "tagged" by either the Advisor or the Booker. It will give a prompt and I used to tell the Booker to just put Yes and I will determine in Anlysis if it truly meets the criterea of a Comeback.

About shop comebacks independant of what kind of DMS you use...
Your biggest problem will be getting the information into your computer. Is there a reason for the s/a to flag the repair as a comeback? What if it is a different repair for the same complaint (trial-and-error approach)? Each are the same to the customer.
I get the feeling that there is a dis-incentive to the advisor and tech to report comebacks (like, you don't get paid again to fix the previous screwup).
Therefore, you will have a tough time capturing this info. Find a way to promote proper data entry.
