Body Shop: getting DRP's

What is your experience with DRPs?

What are your DRPs 'fairness' in what they pay, thier policy towards non-OEM (or even used) parts, number of customers they send, etc.?

There seems to be a flap brewing over State Farm and their repair policies/proceedures. Interesting enough: This time the litigation is between the insured and the insurer.

We are trying to get on the DRP program, but the insurance companies seem set on using the big multi-location non-dealer body shop.

We are currently "direct repair" with Farmers Mutual, All State, State Farm, Nationwide, USAA, and GEICO. Some are better than others regarding aftermarket parts, State Farm seems to push aftermarket parts more than others, even with current year model cars and trucks.
Relationships with the company Reps seems to help a great deal in getting what you need to fix the car right, and also satisfying the customer with an original part when there is a problem with the customer.
Overall, "direct repair" has greatly increased our volume and bottom line. It is the future and we do everything we can to maintain our current relationships and look for new companies to add to our list. Our computer technology has come a very long way in the past 10 years.
