How many of you still change transmission filters as a regular part of a transmission service? We do the transmission flush which is supposed to do s decent job of cleaning the existing filter and so we do not often suggest changing the filter. Your thoughts?

Since I am the Parts Manager, we pretty much sell a filter to everything Seriously though, a flush may be fine on a wire mesh screen filter, but the ones with actual filter media, I don't believe a flush can properly clean those and remove all the little bits that eventually lead to trans failure.

We offer trans service both ways. Give the customer options.

we offer both ways, and a combination of the two combined. On higher mileage cars with no history of a trans service or filter replacement we offer a reduced "deluxe" service. People do buy them!
