We are currently running a coolant flush special. In an effort to lower our cost we aquired some aftermarket Dex-Cool coolant. But in reading the label we discovered that the coolant is universal, will mix with any color coolant, including Dex-Cool.
This product is making me feel uneasy, has anyone used this kind of coolant before? Have you had any problems with it.
The product is Peak Global Lifetime anti-freeze and coolant.

We use a GM approved recycled Dex Cool to save cost. Works very well. Sometimes I wonder if it isn't better than the stuff we buy from GM??? I would say make sure that GM approves it. Just because it says compatible doesn't mean GM approves its use.

Who cares what the General thinks!!! You wouldn't be doing a cooling flush on something that has warranty on it anyways. Remember "longLife" is supposed to be good until after the warranty expires. If Peak says it will work, guess what - they have to stand behind it. We use Prestone Celcius in any used vehicle, and will be going to it on non-warranty covered vehicles as well.

I beg to differ with the fact that no flushes are needed until warranty expires. With GM DEX-COOL there is a line that nobody (customers) want to read/understand. It states "with the proper maintenance", which means do not contaminate the system with other type coolants, hard water, etc.
Back in '97 there were lots of people complaining stating that the dexcool has a "warranty" of 5/100, the fact is that the 5/100 is a life expectancy with proper maintenance. They were causing the "Mississippi Mud" in their systems by adding "green prestone", hard water, etc.
When the reservoir starts looking "rusty" you better do something about it before you get the "mud" in the system....

I would be scared to use anything that states it will mix with any type coolant. I have seen vehicles with mud in the cooling system by using GM dexcool and the "mix with all" coolants...

We have used Peak Global for a long time,NEVER had a problem(customer pay and used cars-warranty we use GM Dexcool). It is compatible with all coolants currently used,and the price is right.
