Windshield Washer Solvent

Postby wounded71 » Thu Apr 29, 2004 12:35 pm

I am interested in purchasing windshield washer solvent premixed and in bulk. I am in the Michigan/Ohio area. I have already contacted Vesco but am researching other options. Anyone know of a company in this area that supply this? I have been told there is a company in or near Toledo, Ohio but do not know the name. Thanks for any reply.

We are located in North central Ohio and are currently using a company called Chemsafe. They supply w.w.s. in 55 gallon drums and you mearly hook it up to a water supply to dilute and dispence.(Different metering nozzle for winter/summer mix.)
As long as the service department gives away washer solvent for free (top of fluids included in 3k service) they might just as well buy it as cheaply as possible.
Besides, my people in the parts department then don't have to hassle with handing out, storing, and inventorying cases of 1 gallon jugs.

"The always helpful parts department answer ..."..............do I detect sarcasm? lol...
From a more helpfull parts department

Daltach, We buy gal by the skid at about .80 per gal. Is this system much cheaper? We now store this in parts for the service dept but I would not mind moving the whole process back by the wash bay. Thanks.

We are currenly storing ours at the wash bay for easy access to a water outlet.
When you figure the price of a 55 gallon concentrate diluted @ 30:1 for summer mix you will have about 18 cents a gallon.
Quite a savings over 1 gallon jugs and the best parts is that the service department maintains it themselves.

The company is Innovative Fluids in Monroe Michigan. Their # is 734-241-5699. Ask for Jim... We used them at our Toledo area dealership (small world!), and were very happy.

Hope this helps!

Have your tried 10952718 (Canadian part number) GM Windshield washer fluid in drum form? When you look at the discounts, volume rebates, return allowance etc. it may be in the best interest of the dealership to talk to your parts department. Remember we all work together to make the dealership bottom line.
This system hooks to a control valve that mixes with water for seasonal control. Talk to your DPM for the valve.
