Pricing structures and Insurance Companies

Ok - this is for the Body Shop Managers....

When buying parts from the dealership for insurance jobs, do most insurance companies only pay for the "book list" price of the parts, or will they pay what is on the invoice? I am getting conflicting information and am trying to determine the best way to approach this. If the insurance companies want to see that you received your discount from the "book list" price, or if you have to submit the information to them with the "book list" price...then as a dealership parts department I want to be certain that this is what we are offering to our shops. I understand that the Body Shops have enough on their plates trying to deal with insurance companies, their "slow pay" and controlling tactics and I am looking to offer better services to make life easier for the Body Shops......

Any input, suggestions, concerns?? What can we do as a Parts Department at the dealership to help the Body Shops the most?

Thanks for any ideas!!!
