I am looking to construct a list of popular service marketing companies, especially those that do one-shot advertisements and marketing over the normal service reminder programs. Does anyone have a creative company they have used?

Advantage Dealer Services does a great job not only on direct mail but on campaign/recall letters, email promotions and anything else you can think of.
They have a very professional staff and creative art dept.
Their phone number is 888-844-6103

I have to throw in a plug for the good 'ol DMS database.
Its the source of all information. Sales, service history, reminders, end-of-term leases, special orders, appointments, etc, etc.
With the ability to automatically cleanse your name file to current postal records and export to microsoft office applications, the possibilities are endless.

There are classes on setting up reminders and doing any form of ad hoc data-mining.
You can get the catalog in pdf format from dealersuite.com
From the Training link, you will see the ADP training catalog as a pdf download.
You must be registered as a user to take the class.

Using the latest catalog dated May-August 06 (Its orange with the 'Easy as ADP' logo on the front. Heres the offerings.

Service reminders & mailings (pg 49 & 53)
Ad hoc reports, datamining, and excel (pages 20-23)

*************************
If you want to view your database, the best file in the service's RPG/RPX is VEHICLES. It contains customer, vehicle, mileage, and last time in data.

Construct your report in RPX and use Reflections (not web2000) to download in Excel. From here you can sort/filter/purge/clean/etc for a Word mail-merge.

Don't give up easily. It takes perseverence to get your desired results.
