Has anyone tried to get a share of the plowing indusrty for repairing broken plows. We have a small shop in town that is swamped and 2 weeks out fixing plows. I am thinking I could pick up some of their overflow. All of the plow manufacturs have repair/parts manuals online. Just looking for any positives or negatives.

you need to go into this the mindset of or repair or fix,
most gm techs will want to to repair rather than fix , most really wont do it either once you start to see the hack jobs on wiring and installation jobs are pretty rough, also dont forget if the plow wont come off truck you dont want it on the hoist which leaves flat stall work and creepers

other wise theres a ton of money to be made

Many years ago a ex-employee of mine went to work as the GM at a dealership in our local mountains. Not that you would sell a lot of vehicles, their service business was probably pretty good. It was mostly a tourist destination with boating in the summer, skiing in the winter.

He didn't stay at the job very long. Complained about a lack of customers and that everyone wanted their driveways plowed (the dealership had the equipment), needed a tow, needed something fixed, etc.

He overlooked the actual opportunity: There were customers everywhere: Plowing, towing, etc. The other part was fixing snow blowers, jet skis, etc.

So, don't overlook the customers at the door. If they have money and a problem, I bet you can find a solution for them!
