Does anyone know of any changes in OSHA rules regarding painters and how/what they breath?

Are you talking about the April 1998 OSHA mandatory/voluntary respirator requirements ?

Yes I am referring to the April '98 OSHA resperator requirements. We were not operating a body shop until Jan '99. Is there another part of this requirement that will take place in Jan '00?

I don't know that I have all the answers for you, but we recently went through the process of adhering to the April 1998 OSHA requirements. We already had a written "voluntary" program in place but it wasn't satisfactory to OSHA, much to our surprise.
With the help of our "loss control" insurance company we have procedures that meets OSHA's mandatory/voluntary requirements.
Frankly, it hasn't cost me anything yet, but it is a detailed process I would be willing to share with you what we have written.
