Does anyone know of a gm web site that post technicial news or known problems on vehicles that only technicians and serivces reps would know...we have a problem that gm will not admit is a "known" problem and want to know if there are any others out there...obviously gm TAC can't tell us much and we are facing buy-outs if not corrected.there are no bulletins addressing the current problems with the duramax diesels in the 2001 gmc trucks...and TAc will not admit there is a problem.

by law the dealer must share tsb's & service bulletins with customers. any dealer should allow you to look at tsb's

I WOULD LIKE SOME CONFIRMATION ON IT BEING LAW TO SHARE TSB'S. I RUN A 30 BAY GM STORE AND WE HAVE ALWAYS VIEWED TSB'S AS A TOOL. WE BUY THOSE TOOLS THROUGH THE FEES WE PAY TO GM ON OUR OPEN ACCOUNT. WE WOULD NOT ALLOW THE PUBLIC TO HAVE FREE USE OF OUR TIRE MACHINE. WHY WOULD TSB'S BE DIFFERENT?

It would be very hard for GM to post or have anything to do with a site like that. Every thing that is printed must be approved by the lawyers and nothing there would be....would put GM in some very tight spots. Thats why you have to call for TAC when you come up with a prelim. bulletin.

Also, bulletins are available to the general public, thats why they have the disclaimer on the bottom of them. But available does not mean free. GM will sell them to the public, we at our dealership will provide them free to a customer who has a concern that is addressed by a bulletin, but if someone calls and asks for copies of service information (and not a regular customer or a local shop that we trade information with) we charge $1.00 per page printed. This has cut down a lot on people just wanting info for thier own use.
