My group is going throught some hard times and the new insurance cont will be put out to the employees this monday. As always the cost is going up. I have done some calling in my area and my stoer is on the lower side. We are in Texas and automotive in my area is running the employee and family from $280.00 (ppo plan) to $1,200.00.
I wanted to know what about other areas and how much (the amount) that is handed on to the employee.
thanks.

I'm not 100% sure I understand your question, but....
Yes, the expense is really climbing.
We pay 100% of the employee coverage and about 70% of his/her familes' coverage. Soon, though, we're are gonna have to put a cap on that.
Cheers,
Doug

We had a 14% increase this year, following a similar increase last year(we are located in Maryland), so I understand your frustration with increases.
Our company pays 55% of cost - regardless of coverage (single, husband wife, family, parent child). 45% is passed on. We do offer a PPO option that is much more expensive, but nobody opted for that because of cost.
