WiFi capabilty for customers

Postby cain12 » Mon Oct 04, 2010 1:50 pm

We are a medium-sized dealer in the greater Los Angeles area and had a question about WiFi. Not sure my location mattered, but basically we are in a highly populated area.

A customer (or two) mentioned that it might be nice to have wireless capabilty in the customer lounge while they wait for their vehicles to be serviced. Anyone else do this? Has it been worth the cost to you?

Thanks in advance,
Cain

How could you not. The cost of a cable modem and router is under 100.00. For the cost of 30.00 a month you can have a seperate internet system that is stand alone. Put a pass code on it and change it monthly so the customers have to ask for the code. Track it. About 30-40% of our customers use it. Either for lap tops or smart phones. We also have computer work stations for them to use with a printer.

Remember, it's all about convenience and making it easy for the customer to do business with you. I don't think I've been in a dealership for the past 3 years that does not offer this to the customer.
I hope you pursue making this available - your customers will thank you!
