We are planning a new owners clinic. Wondering what has worked for you, and what has not. Does anyone have a guideline they are using including what it covers.

Unfortunately GM does not offer that in the co-op, or any other web sites currently. Gotta love GM.

This is what we cover.
1- introductions
2-warranty coverage-basic warranty
powertrain warranty
emmissions warranty-8/80 or 5 50 type of stuff
used certified warranty
3-factory maintenance schedules what is done and when
4- go over warning lights in dash-check engine light srs light etc....
5-talk about dent reapirs, bumper repairs
6- talk about washing and waxing stuff like that

all of the above are done in our showroom with a great buffet-during the buffet we raffle off small gifts from parts-each attendee gets a raffle ticket upon sign in-gifts range from model cars to t shirts to detail supplies etc....

after the items above are covered in the showroom, I then escort the customers thru the service department into the shop where 2 shop foremans have about 4 cars out on display and they go throught how to check the oil ,coolant washer bottle-what they do when they service cars etc...

It is pretty easy stuff-no magic to it-we do ours on a monthly basis and average 150-200 people.

The only thing I have learned from doing these clinics for the last 20 years is dont try to sell your dealership too hard- I use the owners manual as a reference and try to give them straight forward no BS advise on how to take care of their vehicle whether they do the work at your shop or do the work themselves.
It seems to work here

Hi!

I've been presenting New Owner's Clinics since the early 80's. It's a great way to get a customer for life! I'd be happy to fill you in on the format I've successfully used for a long, long time and give you some advice on making it a great event.
Drop me an e-mail or call and I'd be happy to share. We're all in this together!
