I have heard about every 'R' word imaginable used for a Tech's "R&R" description. But what is the definitive, official meaning of "R&R?"

I was taught growing up it was remove and replace. In my travels that is what most would define it as being. However, GM warranty lingo makes it remove and repair - there might be some confusion with those shops.

In the Saab warranty notes R&R stands for Remove and Repair, Remove and Replace. The best way to figure out which way it means is to read the labor op used for the claim. This is the way Saab figures it out.

I always believed it meant Remove and Replace. If you're dealing with C.P. work and ask your attorney, they will tell you not to abbreviate; as I found out, it means something different in different professions and can be used as such in court.
