As business is getting a little softer these days it may be a good idea to get some upsell or sales incentives in place.
Is anyone doing something fun to increase sales at thier counters ? Any off the wall invcentives ? This could be a great topic to drive business in your store in the second quarter.
what is the best thing that worked in your store ?I have posted this in the Parts forum as well and feel maybe some service managers may have some more input on it. This topic is not to discus whether spiffs are right or wrong it is intended to Flush out any great ideas that you have used , or heard of etc. Thanks in advance

SPIFFS DO INCREASE SALES FOR TOUR CHOICE OF WHAT EVER YOU WANT TO TARGET.WE HAVE SPIFFS ON TIRES,WIPER BLADES,DETAILS AND ALSO CABIN OR AIR FILTERS.AS MUCH AS SOME MAY WANT TO ASSUME THAT THEY SHOULD BE SELLING THESE ITEMS ANYWAY YOU CAN MEASURE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN YOUR SALES ON WHAT YOU HAVE SPIFFS ATTACHED TO.TENDENCY TO GO TO WHAT MAKES THEM THE MONEY IS AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN THERE.THERE SHOULD NOT BE A NEGATIVE TO OFFERING SPIFFS.LOOK AT THE SPIFFS THAT YOUR SALES DEPARTMENT PAYS OUT.

We are planning a "May Flowers" promotion in our service departments. The customer buys a choice of a specific maintenance service along with a 72 point inspection and we give them thier choice of a potted perrenial, hanging basket or a flat of annual flowers. We partner with a local garden center and buy in bulk so we have displays in our service drives. We also have coupons available for the customer if they dontsee something they like, they can go to the nursery and pick out thier own plant. We hang nice posters in the drive as well as the nursery to promote the sale. We also advertise in the garden section of the local new paper. We haven't done this event for 3-4 years, but are doing it again next month. The success is in the advisors ability to sell the package. We usually spiff the advisor with a pre paid credit card for the most packages in a given week.

We have had great succes with a POKER spiff, for each item upsold, (the list of items change monthly dependent on an area that needs attention) the Tech and Advisor receive a playing card. 2-8 pay $2, 9-J pay $3 and Q,K,A pay $5. End of week Advisor and Tech with best 5 card poker hand wins $35. New hands every week, no cards carried over. Has created excitement and interest. All spiffs need to be changed often to keep interest up. This spiff has gone on for 3 months, will probably hold off in May.

i use a dice roll spiff for techs and advisors. the service advisors get rolls off of maintenance sold at the counter. the techs gets rolls for any upsell that is not what the customer came in for except warranty and extended warranties. How many rolls they get is based off of dollar sales. If it is $50.00- 100.00 they get 1 roll and it goes up as the dollar value increases. If they sell $500.00 they get to roll 6 dice and they get a dollar for every number they roll. It seems to work well and if it is a off week i may decide to do double dice rolls on transmission flushes or tire balances whatever i think we are week in.
