Recently, I've have received several e-mails from new users looking to become more active in posting on these message boards.

Unfortunately, they run into trouble when trying to use their user name and password. This is usually because they aren't currently registered to post on the message boards.

The dealersedge.com website username/password is separate from using these bulletin boards. They are two separate programs, which at this time requires you to register for both. Anyone who is registered at dealersedge.com can read these forums, but you must register again on the forum program to post. It only takes a minute to register for the forums.

If you don't know if you are click on the REGISTER link below the new post icon or on several other areas of this page. The program will only allow one screen name per e-mail address, so you'll know if you are registered or not. If you need more help, then write to me at robc@dealersedge.com and I'll try to help you out.

Also, I recommend that when you do make a post, especially if it is a long one you do one more step to protect your work. Before hitting the submit topic or submit reply button I recommend that you highlight your text message and copy it to your clipboard (select all your text and then press CTRL-C). That way if something happens and your post doesn't go through you have a back-up to try again or to save for a later time. There is nothing worse than spending 10-15 minutes to make an intelligent reply only to have it all erased and disappear when you try to submit it. I hope these hints help!

Hi Rob. I have a question about posting. I use to be able to go in and not have to put my name and pass word in every time. I think you had cookies to recognize us. Is this something you have done on your end?
thanks
Mike

At the top of the main forums menu, again by the Post/Reply icon in the upper right corner there is a link for preferences. There should be a checkbox in there to save your username/password. If it is already set to save for one year, then I am out of ideas
