Closing Tac Cases

Closing Tac Cases

Is anyone experiencing a push form their factory reps to close out TAC cases in a rapid manner? Or is anyone experiencing difficulties closing out cases. We are. We call them in with all the correct data, and many times they are not closed out. may take a week or more and sometimes never. Wondering if anyone else out there is experiencing part of GM wnating to clos them out immediately, while TAC does not care about the immediate close out.

I have found the easiest and most effective way to close TAC cases is to fax in the closing form. I haven't had any problems doing it this way and they all seem to get closed a lot sooner. Just make sure all the information is on the form. TAC case #, TAC consultant name, cause, correction, and labor operation, and of course dealer code/bac code.

I just watched a Know-how class taped from IDL in January and it was said that the dealerships must maintain a TAC log. This may be part of the push. I talked to TAC the other day and he said they open 3,000 cases per day. Thats a lot of information that they can give to the dealerships if cases are closed, but I have always had problems closeing cases. I used to close them the day they were repaired, by faxing the TA form in. But then about a month or two later, i would get a notice that the case is open and requires a closing. I got tired of faxing the case closings twice so now I wait until we get the DCS notice.

I wish TAC could have an internet data base for open cases and close them from there, that would make it faster and easier.

Closing cases has been a difficult task with TAC. I have tried faxing and calling in both and still sometimes it takes weeks, even after faxing sometimes 2-3 times. We try to stay on top of it. One way we have found that makes it a little easier than to fill the complete form out is to wait until TAC sends the DCS form and it has VIN,Case #, and much more and all you need to fill in is cause and correction and labor op and fax it.
I do too beleive they ought to make it web based or at least make it retrievable through GM access. Our Rep also would reject H_routed claims if he saw there was an open case on the claim.

The ONLY way to close your cases is to get Sherry's phone number from your AVM. She is a TAC rep that cares and does a great job. Ever since I did this I have no more problems. Did you get a new AVM last month Mike? If you got the one I think you got then watch out for charge backs on your open TAC cases.
