O.k. It wasn't as bad as I thought. It was just my GM rep!! It is like a mini audit and he said that we did very well. We did get several charge backs, but in the end it was about $600.00. Shesh! He made it sound a lot more formal and intimidating than it actually was. We were given some good info and I'm glad it is over. He did say that our OLT and quite a few errors by a warranty company submitting for us were the triggers. Anyway, thank you all for the advice and I hope I don't have to go through one of these again anytime soon.

Congratulations on surviving your first audit. My philosophy was to always think that there was going to be an audit tomorrow. Anytime you are working with warranty think about how it is going to look to an auditor and how you would defend your decision.

I always worried if we went for a couple of years without an audit. The department doesnt give it the same focus as they do right after an audit.

Frank, that is excellent advice. It also pertains to the way one should keep their parts dept. I have always marvelled at those who go through the 'hoops' every year prior to inventory time. I have always told people that unlocking the door is most preparation you should need for an inventory other than some of the necessary inventory jobs that have to be run. If it's easy to inventory, it's easy to work in; easy to work in, easy to inventory.
