New Delivery Reciepts

New Delivery Reciepts

Postby jrcal » Fri May 14, 1999 3:00 pm

Has anyone seen the new carrier delivery reciepts yet? I saw my first one this morning. There is no listing of the damage areas and damage codes. The drivers are supposed to carry the master list of the damage codes. All the new delivery reciept shows is the vin number and spaces under the vin for the damage code.

A DBC bulletin is being released soon.

WE STARTED SEEING THESE NEW RECEIPTS IN NOVEMBER LAST YEAR. IF THE DRIVER DOESNT HAVE THE LIST, YOU CAN STILL FIND IT IN THE RECEIVING AND INSPECTION MANUAL. I WOULD SUGGEST COPIES BE MADE AND LAMINATED FOR THE FOLKS WHO CHECK IN THE VEHICLES. ALSO, MAKE SURE THEY KNOW THAT THEY ARE NOT LIMITED BY THE NUMBER OF SPACES LISTED WHEN A VEHICLE IS SEVERELY DAMAGED, THEY CAN WRITE THEM IN ALL OVER THE SPACE IF NECESSARY. THIS CAN HAPPEN WHEN THE DRIVER DRIVES A DEVILLE OFF A TRAILER WITHOUT PUTTING THE RAMPS DOWN FIRST.

The Admin message for this came out yesterday 5-17-99. Called the "Plain Paper Multiple Vehicle Delivery Receipt" the admin message says "GM approved carriers will recieve notification that they can begin using the new delivery receipt June 1, 1999. Effective July 1, 1999, all GM carriers will be directed to make all deliveries of GM products on the new delivery receipt."

So why are the carriers using the new receipts now?
