I sent in a tool for warranty exchange 3 months ago and was sent a totally different tool. I don't even need the other tool and after 3 months, several conversations with the vendor and several emails....nothing. I feel taken advantage of! I still am forced to buy thousands of dollars worth of tools (billed through GM to my open account) and feel I have no leverage to get help. I can't buy tools elsewhere and I can't stop the billing until I get some action on this matter. What would you do?

Mark:

I assume you are talking about Kent Moore. I would go to http://www.spx.com/contact_us and call one or two of these people and tell them your problem and ask for the name of a manager who can assist you with this. It is just like trying to get your car fixed

good luck

Mark, I know how you feel. We are a pontiac/GMC dealer. I have been logging in more tools lately for the GTO than I have time for. It would be nice if we had a GTO to repair. We also have a tool kit for cylinder bore liners on Envoy engines. Has anyone tried to order a cylinder bore liner? They are not available. That is @ $800 sitting on a shelf collecting dust. Yes I know we will eventually use them, but how about some sort of discount based on my yearly purchases. Probably no chance of seeing that in my lifetime.

At a GM service managers club meeting we recently had Wally Burchfield out and discussed the possibility of a repurchase for the tools we have not used. Several options were discussed, the buy back was the only real option.

I would recommend two things. One, for sure participate in these kind of dicussions at your local service managers club meetings, with GM reps, above your AVM, get regional support involved.

Secondly, use the DFOAB form to make this recommendation. Don't think it won't do any good, I have personally submitted LOTS of these forms and have seen results of the use of them. Fill it out, submit it and make this subject your first priority!
