Huh ... that seems really low. To check I pulled up the results on shop I am working at and it was over 85% (again I only counted when all 4 were replaced.). I mean it seems a no-brainer that someone would pay $800+ for a set of tires and not get the wheels aligned.
However, this shop IS NOT agressive at selling tires, and just catch them as they come, so that might increase their average.

Instead of huh, I am going to say Duh! That is a figure I have never thought to look at, once again the forum here has proved it's value.

I agree with Rob. If you are selling at least 2 tires I would think that an alignment should be offered/suggested to all customers to ensure proper wear. In our shop without checking I would say at least 90% + get the alignment when tires are purchased.

I wouldn't even quote 4 tires without an alignment check. I have a set price for checking the alignment, which goes up when adjustment is required. In fact, I can't remember 4 tires ever going out of here without an alignment check, though it may have happened from time to time. That's just money walking out of the door.
