Hello everyone I am a service manager, new to R&R/ERALink, I have a problem that I thought perhaps some of you might have fixed for it already. The problem I have encounter is as follows:
When writing a repair order on ERALink the system allows for 3 categories to chose from (S) Service (B) Body Shop and (P) PDI.
However for an example when writing a PDI it must start as a (P) if is started as an (S) the repair order has to be voided and a new one produce to fix the error! At least this is what R&R technical assistance is telling me. Is there another way around it?
I m running ERALink Version 2.6.1

Thank you

Yup. That's the way it's done. I don't know of any way around it, sorry.

It really depends on how the accounting is set up. In our store, R&R did a inferior programming setup across the board. It really does not matter, as long as you assign an accounting number to the PDI
itself in ro close out

What is the real concern here? Is it that the RO will be posted to the wrong sale accounts or that the RO just has the wrong department on it?

It is true that once the RO is written, the department can not be changed. However, if your concern is accounting and not so much what department the RO says, you can get around that by setting up journal prefix overrides or group overrides to handle the accounting.

Let me know if the accounting is your concern and I can help you get the necessary setups done.

FYI-- EraLink is the Windows interface software and has no effect on the Era software functionality-- you need to look at the Era software version which can be found in 6320 (may need ADMIN access to see this program). You're probably running Era 4.0, 4.2, 4.5 or 4.7.
