Team leaders can get a bump in their flat rate hour as well as an amount such as $0.50 cents or $1.00 for every hour produced by the team. Another option is to pay a flat bonus for hours produced or team productivity which can be set at whatever levels you want to set up.
Also consider a bonus on fixed right scores for the team so that your team leader stays focused on quality control as well as production.

Are you going to have true teams or lateral support? On true teams, team leaders get different rate and different responsabilities. On lateral support the most common is what Mike mentioned.

Lateral Support usually means that all techs flag individually.
Full Teams the techs split their hours evenly.

Here's a question...
On the lateral support group system, do you recommend the group leaders dispatch the work to their respective technicians or is there a better way to do this if you aren't set up with computerized dispatching?

Yes, on lateral support the team leader dispatches to the other techs on the team. The big problem with that is unless you have a fair & honest team leader, he can pick & choose the gravy work for himself leaving the less desirable work for the other techs. That is why I belive full teams works better as all hours are split by team members. Your most experienced tech who is usually your team leader can handle the diagnostic and heavy line work leaving the easier work such as maintenance to the rest of the team. The result is improved fixed right the first time scores and increased productivity.
