warranty charge back?

Does anyone know if the GM policy and procedure states that a dealer must sign off on any charge back before hits the open account? We just got a charge back for lack of brake documentation and nobody in the store signed off on the amount. Each time a warranty debit was charged in the past the dealer or gm always has signed it.

If this is just a charge back like from your credit memo because of lack of documentation or something of that nature, no one has to sign off on it. However, if GM comes in to audit and goes through your RO's and has charge backs, the service manager must sign off on each charge back.
At least this is how the process has always worked here. Hope it helps.

There's not any requirement that a dealer has to sign off on a chargeback. More to the point, GM normally wants a dealer sign something to basically admit fault. I routinely recommend that dealers do not sign chargebacks they don't agree with and that never stops a factory from issuing the chargeback anyway.

Partly this is why NC passed a law earlier this year that required a meeting for chargebacks as the result of a review.
