My GM guy has been pushing and pushing the use of ceramic brake pads, his big issue is the family pricing, we are strickly a truck dealer,light to heavy duty and the biggest percent of our base is commercial use, we have been having very good luck with GM and the after market pads.
Price is really not the issue with our customers, down time is and we are a little apprehensive about switching, i really dont feel comfortable switching when we have been having good results, any feedback would really help as my GM guy claims these are best things that GM has come with yet, thanks

as by the rapid reply's i see that ceramic is the way of the future

Used them in light duty trucks and they work well. Severe service was also a +. I personally used them and the only draw back I noted was a little squeak on first or secoond application after sitting over night, once they were up to op temp all was well. (vehicle was a 2000 Z-28-and yes, they worked better as they got hotter! SCCA)

We use them wherever possible, and have had very good results. Major complaint is that they do not offer them for the Cavalier. I currently am running them on my 04 Impala and I am very happy with them.

Ceramics have to be used on heavy vehicals. If they don't get hot enough there is brake fade. That is why no Cavalier pads.

Just like the sintered metallic shoes on '66 GTO's (I can't believe I admitted to knowing that).
