Tech pay and CSI

Anyone out there care to share some sucessful pay plans which tie CSI into tech pay ?
I would like to create such a tie-in but have some reservations. A couple years ago I made an ill-fated attempt but it backfired. Using individual tech scores off CSI summaries didn't work. All too often the tech who do the easiest work were rewarded and the guys who handled the tough stuff (like intermittant elect problems) walked away empty handed---even though, in the big picture, they did a great job for the department. By luck-of-the-draw, some techs walked away empty handed because the owners of cars they worked on were not surveyed...etc, etc.
Now I am considering a departmental reward---if the shop as a whole does well, everybody gets a piece of the pie based on the amount of warranty work they did for the month. There's plenty of pitfalls with this plan, too.... but I'm having a difficult time coming up with an idea that is at least reasonably fair for all concerned.
Thoughts?
By the way, the matter is complicated by having 5 carlines and, therfore, 5 different CSI reports to contend with.
Grateful for the sharing of any sucess stories,
Doug
